Another busy yet fun summer week exploring the Denver area! We went on a few more fun adventures this week.
Monday was a "free day" for Colorado residents at the Denver Botanic Gardens. They have a really neat Jurassic Gardens exhibit this summer, with life-size realistic dinosaurs tucked into their gardens. Some of the dinosaurs (like the one below) were huge and easy to spot; others were small and we really had to look for them tucked in the plants.
We had a blast trying to find all the dinosaurs, and learning how they adapted to their environment back in the Mesozoic era. More pictures from our fun day at the Gardens can be seen here.
Fred's company sponsored a family day at the Denver Zoo, so FLEA spent a very hot day (100 degrees!) with the lions, tigers, and bears -- oh my! We took a little ride on the zoo train, saw lots of animals, and then enjoyed dinner and drinks.
After dinner, there was a petting zoo for the kids and a band. The girls got to pet several reptiles and then they tore up the dance floor! Pictures from the zoo can be seen at this link.
This week, we also put on our Green and White and represented the Spartans with other members of MSU's Rocky Mountain alumni chapter at a Big 10 picnic in Littleton. Here's Elisabeth and Allison with their new friend Lauren; Lauren's mom and I exchanged contact info and promised to get these Spartan girls together for a play date soon!
