Triathlon!

Today was our neighborhood's Kids Triathlon. What a FANTASTIC event! Both Elisabeth and Allison were among 100 kids that participated, collected pledges for Special Olympics Colorado, finished and did AWESOME! We are so proud of them!

The final leg of Allison's journey involved swimming the width of the pool. Since she can't swim independently yet, I had to jump in the pool and help her across. And she FINISHED! (Allison refused to let me take her picture with her medal after she finished...so this picture was taken after the triathlon at home, sitting in her beloved yellow chair, wearing her pajamas, with blue Gatorade lips!)After the last wave of kids finished, there was tons of food and drinks for everyone -- all donated by local restaurants --, prizes for the top finishers, and over 45 other prizes to raffle off -- again, all donated; I was on the donation committee and we snagged lots of cool stuff! Our family won a gift card to LoDo's Restaurant and a goodie bag from Soccer Stop with a bunch of soccer stuff in it. And the best part is our neighborhood collected lots of money for Special Olympics Colorado. I haven't heard a final figure yet - but with 100 kids participating, I'm willing to bet they raised a decent amount. What a fantastic day for our triathletes!!!
