Last Wednesday, Elisabeth's school was closed to observe Veteran's Day. We had a play date scheduled with her good friend and neighbor Camille (who has a 3-year old sister named Callia that Allison likes to play with); unfortunately, we had to cancel it because Elisabeth came down with a bad cough and sore throat. It's too bad, because Wednesday was a gorgeous 70-degree day!

Elisabeth missed school on Thursday and Friday, too, which were also very nice, warm, sunny days. Even though we were all feeling crummy and battling colds, we found a way to take advantage of the sunshine! I told the girls they could go outside and get some fresh air if they promised to do a quiet activity and no running around. They agreed...so we grabbed our paint brushes and set up shop on the front walk.

Allison painted a few lovely rainbows:Elisabeth called this creation Lunch. We had chicken nuggets, green pepper, carrots, apples, and milk for lunch that day...which apparently provided her with artistic inspiration! This is Elisabeth's other creation: Thankfully, we're all feeling much better now. Just in time to enjoy the latest snow storm! This is what we woke up to this morning:We have about 5 or 6 inches, and the forecast is calling for up to a foot. We have to enjoy it while it lasts....the Denver Post headline today reads Sledding in the forecast for Sunday, a melt-off for Monday. Gotta love Colorado's "here today, gone tomorrow" snow!
