Allison had fun rolling a car through some paint, and then wheeling the car across paper. This one is appropriately titled Painting With Wheels.
Elisabeth's class has been talking about the rhombus, the shape formerly known as diamond. (I had no idea that teachers nowadays prefer we call it a rhombus rather than diamond!) They made paper kites using the rhombus shape. First the kids had to cut out a rhombus shape without help. For the tail of the kite, they had to spell their name out. Then they had to decorate the rhombus. Elisabeth chose to draw a scene from Mexico, complete with the sun, ocean, sand, and palm trees! Hence, this beautiful piece of work is titled Mexican Rhombus.
In other news, Allison's surgery to get the ear tubes inserted is scheduled for April 17. We're very optimistic that the tubes will help her and put an end to the problems she has had all winter. I also wanted to mention that she can now sign please. It's so cute when she really wants something and she starts signing please with a look of desperation in her eyes. It's hard to refuse such a cute kid!
The girls were excited to receive one final postcard from Grandma and Grandpa H. yesterday. They are leaving their tropical paradise in a few days, and heading home to the cold north. Enjoy your last few days in Florida and have a safe trip home! We are excited to see you! Meanwhile, Grandma M. will remain in Florida for several more weeks. We hope you continue to enjoy your time in the sunshine!
