Golden Girls

The girls and I hit the road today and headed down to Golden. Our destination: Heritage Square Music Hall. Heritage Square is a Victorian village in the foothills of Golden with boutique shops, restaurants, the music hall (which is basically like a dinner theater), an amusement park, and an Alpine slide that slithers down the mountain. Every Saturday, the Music Hall has an interactive children's show; kids from the audience are invited on stage to participate in the performance. The Frog Prince is currently playing so the girls were pretty excited.

Elisabeth has read the book so she knew the story line; Allison thought we were going to see Disney's The Princess and the Frog and was a little confused when she discovered it wasn't the story she thought it would be...but she did like it!Elisabeth got selected to join the cast on stage for a royal feast! (She's the 2nd kid to the left of the frog).After the show, we took pictures with the princess....the frog.......and then stopped by the amusement park to check things out. The girls went on a couple of rides and then dragged me on a small roller coaster. We did our best to take a group shot mid-ride on the coaster:
Love this picture of Elisabeth's excitement/fear:Since we were in Golden, we decided to visit Lookout Mountain. We ventured to the top and hoped to see snow but, alas, there was none. Elisabeth enjoyed the views at the top (Allison refused to get out of the car). Tomorrow we're heading to the pumpkin patch and going Halloween costume shopping! Way to go Spartans! Best start since 1966! 7-0!!
