On Saturday we enjoyed a big feast with turkey and all the trimmings, and then we stepped outside for our neighborhood's Christmas party. It began in the park right in front of our house with a Christmas tree lighting. 
Then we walked over to the community center clubhouse for live music, dessert, and horse drawn carriage rides! (Sorry if these pictures look dark -- they look fine on my laptop but they look awfully dark on our desktop!)
The horses were a wee bit late to arrive, so we all had to wait around a bit (if you can call nearly an hour a "bit") for our ride, but I think it was worth it. We enjoyed a nice carriage ride around the neighborhood and got to ooh and aah at the many Christmas lights that our neighbors put up. 
Poor Allison was overtired and passed out in exhaustion before the horses even arrived. She slept through most of the ride.

To our surprise, Santa was in the lobby when we arrived! Allison ran right up to him and was thrilled to see him.

Elisabeth, on the other hand, was not impressed at all. She had no interest in sitting on Santa's lap again nor having her picture taken with him. Santa came into the restaurant and visited us at our table for a while. Here he is trying to win Elisabeth over:

This was a fabulous Santa! Next year, I'm skipping the mall (and their overpriced picture packages and silly "you may not take pictures of Santa with your own camera" rule) and we're heading to the Omni to find Santa!
By the way, Santa said there's no such thing as a Naughty list. He said there's only a Nice list and a Try Harder list. Which list are YOU on?
