Van Buren State Park in South Haven is only 30 minutes from our house. We last visited this beach in October, and it was just as nice and peaceful as we remembered.
The temperature is usually about 10 degrees cooler at the beach, so we did need to wear sweatshirts. We built sand castles, climbed the sand dunes, and even dipped our toes in the (very cold) water!
