Elisabeth's hard work is paying off -- today, she earned her first ribbon for her strong performance at last Saturday's cross country meet. She finished 5th out of 36 girls in her age group -- an improvement after finishing 9th out of 35 girls the prior week -- and she also finished 6th out of all the runners from her team. Since the top 8 finishers from each team get a ribbon, this awesome 6th place finish warrants a pink 6th place ribbon! Way to go, Elisabeth!
By the way, someone (maybe you, mom?) asked me about the distance they run in their meets. At our meets, the kids 10 and under run 1.5K, which is equivalent to .93 mile. At age 11, the distance increases to 2.5K, which is equivalent to 1.5 miles.
